Messages

Use Gadget Trade messaging to communicate about products and marketplace support.

Unread messages

The Messages navigation item can display an unread indicator when unread messages are available. The count updates while you use marketplace pages and is suppressed while you are already inside the inbox.

Good messaging practice

  1. 1Keep product discussions specific and respectful.
  2. 2Do not share passwords, one-time codes or sensitive account credentials.
  3. 3Confirm important product details before payment or a swap.
  4. 4Report suspicious behaviour through the marketplace support/reporting tools.

Use messages for clear communication

Marketplace messages are useful for product questions, delivery coordination, viewing arrangements and transaction clarification. Keep important agreements clear and specific so both sides can understand what was discussed.

Protect your account

  • Never send your password.
  • Never send a one-time authentication code.
  • Never provide a card PIN or security code to another user.
  • Be cautious of links asking you to sign in outside the official Gadget Trade service.
  • Report suspicious payment or account requests.

Keep transaction discussions relevant

A useful conversation focuses on the product, price, condition, availability and delivery or pickup. Repeated unsolicited messages, harassment, threats and attempts to pressure another user are not appropriate.

When support needs the conversation

If a dispute requires review, preserve the relevant conversation rather than deleting it. Provide the order, listing or account reference so support can locate the correct marketplace record.
