01Overview

This Nova Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Nova AI and its related features on Gadget Trade. It should be read together with the main Gadget Trade Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

Nova is designed to use only the context needed for the feature you choose. The exact information involved can vary by request, account state, feature and plan.

02Information you provide to Nova

When you send a message to Nova, the service needs the message and relevant conversation context to generate a response. Depending on the feature, your request may also include information you intentionally provide through supported images, product questions or other inputs.

• Do not enter passwords, PINs, one-time passwords or authentication codes.
• Do not provide card security codes, private payment credentials or other secrets.
• Only upload images or information that you are permitted to share.

03Gadget Trade and marketplace context

For marketplace questions, Nova may receive relevant Gadget Trade information such as a product, listing, category, price, condition, location, stock or comparable marketplace records when the selected feature requires that context.

Marketplace context is supplied to help Nova answer the specific request. Nova should not treat unrelated, missing or unavailable records as confirmed Gadget Trade facts.

04Account and plan information

For signed-in experiences, Nova may use authenticated account context needed to provide the requested feature, enforce access and subscription limits, support notifications or maintain the conversation experience.

Private AI provider credentials are handled on the server and are not intended to be exposed to the browser.

05Web research and sources

When you ask for current information and the relevant Nova feature supports research, Nova may use managed web-search capabilities. Research responses can include links to public sources so you can inspect the information used for the answer.

Public sources can be incomplete, outdated or incorrect. For important decisions, review the authoritative source rather than relying only on a generated answer.

06Images and visual inputs

Some Nova experiences can process supported images. Visual capabilities depend on the feature and plan. Avoid submitting private or sensitive material unless it is necessary for the task and you are authorised to provide it.

07Security

Gadget Trade uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information used by Nova. Server-side credentials and application secrets are kept out of the client-side interface, and production systems should limit sensitive logging and protect authentication and payment information.

No online service can promise absolute security. Users should also protect their accounts and avoid submitting credentials or other secrets to an AI assistant.

08AI and service providers

Gadget Trade may rely on third-party infrastructure and AI or technical service providers to operate Nova and related functions. Information is shared with those providers only as needed for the selected feature, service operation, security or a lawful requirement, subject to applicable terms and privacy practices.

09Retention and control

Information associated with Nova may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the feature, maintain security, resolve support issues, enforce policies, maintain relevant records or meet legal obligations. Different information categories can have different retention periods.

10Responsible use and limitations

Nova can make mistakes, misunderstand a request or rely on incomplete information. Nova is not a payment authorisation service, authenticity certificate, legal opinion, financial adviser, medical adviser or substitute for an authoritative transaction or account record.
