Notifications & Preferences

Manage notification delivery, preference controls and the ways Gadget Trade keeps you informed without unnecessary interruptions.

Notification controls

Use Settings → Notifications & Preferences to review the notification categories available to your account. Keep only the categories you want to receive regularly and update them when your needs change.

Push notifications

  1. 1Allow browser or installed-app notifications when Gadget Trade asks for permission.
  2. 2Open the notification settings to review the categories available to your account.
  3. 3Turn categories on or off according to your preference.
  4. 4If notifications stop, check device/browser permission and return to Gadget Trade to confirm the category is still enabled.

Email and account notices

Some account, security, payment, order and marketplace events may use email or other transactional communication. Preference controls do not necessarily disable essential security or service messages.

Calls and real-time alerts

Eligible calling and messaging features can use real-time or push notifications. Keep the relevant permission enabled if you want incoming-call or message alerts while Gadget Trade is not the active screen.

Privacy and troubleshooting

Notification previews can reveal information on a shared or locked device. Use your device privacy controls when needed. Never rely on a notification as proof of payment; confirm important account or transaction details inside Gadget Trade.

Notification categories

Notifications should be organised by purpose rather than treated as one undifferentiated stream. Typical categories include account and security, orders and payments, messages and calls, community activity, seller activity, campaigns and promotional updates, and product or platform announcements. The exact controls shown to an account are the current source of truth.

Device-level permissions

  1. 1Allow browser or installed-PWA notifications when your device asks for permission.
  2. 2Check the device notification settings if alerts stop appearing.
  3. 3Check whether Focus, Do Not Disturb or a browser permission is suppressing delivery.
  4. 4Return to Gadget Trade and confirm the relevant notification preference remains enabled.

Notification privacy

Notification previews can reveal names, messages, order details or other information on a shared or locked screen. Use the operating system notification-preview controls when privacy matters. A push notification is never proof that a payment has completed; confirm the transaction inside Gadget Trade.

Frequently asked questions

Can I turn off all notifications?+

You can disable optional categories where the available controls allow it. Essential security, account or service communications may still be delivered because they are necessary to operate or protect the account.

Why am I not receiving a push notification?+

Check device/browser permission, Focus or Do Not Disturb, the relevant Gadget Trade category, your network connection and whether the app or browser session is still active.

Can notifications prove that someone paid me?+

No. Confirm payment status in the official transaction or order record. Do not release a gadget based only on a screenshot, forwarded message or notification.
